El Camino Memorial

Santa Maria police arrested a 15-year-old boy and are looking for another unidentified suspect involved in a robbery Monday evening.  Santa Maria police officers went to a strong armed robbery near Memorial Park on West El Camino and North Pine Street in Santa Maria at around 6:43 p.m.  A witness who saw the incident happen reported that the two suspects fled the scene of the crime. Responding officers located one of the suspects on the 900 block of North Broadway. The suspect ran from the officers but police were able to arrest him without incident.  An investigation revealed the suspect they caught to be 15 years old. The teen and another unidentified suspect approached the victim near Memorial Park and punched him several times causing him to lose consciousness. The suspects took the victim's personal property before leaving the scene.  The victim's stolen property was located by officers with the help of community members.  The 15-year-old suspect was booked into juvenile hall on charges of robbery and battery causing serious bodily injury.  Limited information is available regarding the second suspect at this time.
